Project Manager – Tamfol

Employer: Union Income Benefit

Position: Project Manager

Salary: Â£45,000 – £50,000

Job Type: Full Time

Work location: London

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Union Income Benefit (UIB) is a UK-based insurance brokerage working in partnership with some of the country’s largest Trade Unions. We’ve supported over 2.5 million members with straightforward, affordable protection designed to provide genuine peace of mind. Since 1999, we’ve paid out more than £45 million in claims.

We’re regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and have held Investors in People status since 2002, reflecting our long-term commitment to developing our people.

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Change function, taking responsibility for a wide range of projects that support both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic business priorities.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party providers to lead and coordinate the successful planning, execution, and closure of projects. You’ll initiate project meetings, create and maintain delivery plans, lead weekly progress updates, manage risks and dependencies, and see work through to completion.

While you’ll work autonomously and clearly own your projects, delivery is highly collaborative and typically involves multiple teams across the business.

A key part of the role is relationship building. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across different functions, building trust, maintaining momentum, and supporting teams through change in a structured and practical way.

This is a hybrid role, with two days per week based in our London office and the remainder working from home.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Managing projects end-to-end, from initiation through to delivery and closure.

• Defining scope, objectives, plans, and measurable outcomes.

• Leading project meetings and providing clear, regular status updates.

• Identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Working closely and building relationships with cross-functional teams to coordinate delivery.

• Ensuring projects align with governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

• Supporting change activity to ensure outcomes are embedded effectively.

• Reviewing completed projects and capturing lessons learned.

Work schedule

35-hour working week, Monday–Friday (9:00am–5:00pm).

Hybrid working: 2 days per week in our London office.

All equipment provided.

Requirement

• Around 2 years’ experience in a project management or project delivery role.

• Experience working in a regulated environment (insurance, financial services, or similar).

• Confidence managing projects independently and handling competing priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, with some experience using project management software (e.g. MS Project, JIRA).

• Experience leading project meetings and producing clear, structured reporting.

• A practical understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, or hybrid).

Benefit

• Â£45,000 – £50,000 starting salary.

• 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

• Eligibility for annual salary review and bonus schemes.

• Private Medical Insurance with Vitality.

• Ongoing training, development and support.
