FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
NHS Forth Valley seeks a motivated Pharmacy Support Worker for an exciting rotational programme across specialist areas including Stores & Distribution, National Treatment Centre, Acute Assessment Unit, Dispensary, Oncology/Aseptic Services and Mental Health. You’ll gain broad experience in a fast-paced environment, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical support while developing professionally in a supportive setting.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Rotating through pharmacy specialities, supporting clinical teams with medication preparation, distribution and patient care.
• Assisting in dispensary operations, stores management, aseptic services and acute care environments.
• Participating in weekend and public holiday rotas, maintaining accurate records and following pharmacy protocols.
• Collaborating with pharmacy teams, nurses and clinicians to ensure safe, effective medicine management.
Work Schedule
Full-time with rotational shifts including weekends and public holidays, reducing to 36 hours/week from April 2026 (pro-rata pay protected).
You Will Have
• Previous pharmacy experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, adaptable nature thriving in challenging, fast-paced team environments.
• Proactive “can do” attitude and enthusiasm for skill development across specialities.
Requirements
• SCQF Level 6 qualification in Pharmacy Services (or willingness to work towards).
• Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership required.
