FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Healthcare Assistant with Marie Curie’s West Kent community team, you will deliver person-centred end-of-life care in patients’ own homes during night shifts, monitoring skin integrity, assisting personal hygiene, supporting nutrition, mobility, comfort, and maintaining clean care environments. This empathetic role practices supportive communication with patients and families while providing high-quality personal care that enhances wellbeing during life’s final stages. Working 27 hours weekly across 3 night shifts (10pm-7am, Monday-Saturday), you’ll develop/evaluate complex care plans independently with emotional resilience in a compassionate organisation committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Your Responsibilities include:

Monitor/maintain patients’ skin integrity, personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and comfort needs.

Provide empathetic communication and high-quality personal care to patients and loved ones.

Develop and evaluate person-centred care management plans for complex end-of-life needs.

Maintain clean, orderly care environments during overnight community visits.

Work Schedule 

Part-time permanent: 27 hours/week (3 night shifts).

10:00pm – 7:00am, Monday to Saturday rotation.

You Will Have 

• NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care (preferred).

• Person-centred, compassionate approach with emotional resilience.

• Independent working ability developing complex care plans.

• Excellent communication supporting patients and families professionally.

Requirements

• Reside in Maidstone area.

• Valid UK driving licence with car access for patient home visits.

• Relevant Health/Social Care experience including end-of-life care.
