FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Community Care Worker with Oakshed Care, you will deliver compassionate domiciliary care across West Cornwall communities, assisting service users with personal care, daily living, medication, shopping, and emotional support in their own homes. This fulfilling role offers deep satisfaction from bringing joy and comfort to vulnerable individuals, with comprehensive training provided even without prior experience to ensure you deliver the highest care standards. You’ll build meaningful relationships through companionship, activities, pet care support, and accompanying trips while maintaining professional dignity and safety.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Assist with personal care including showering, bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin integrity.

• Support meal preparation, feeding, hydration, and medication prompts (post-competence testing).

• Complete light housekeeping like vacuuming, dishwashing, shopping, and planning.

• Provide emotional support, companionship through activities, films, games, and conversation.

• Accompany service users to health appointments, trips, holidays, and pet care support.

Work Schedule

Flexible full-time or part-time patterns.

On-the-road domiciliary visits across West Cornwall communities.

You Will Have 

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred).

• Home care experience (1 year preferred, not essential).

• Compassionate nature passionate about meaningful impact.

• Reliable, flexible for domiciliary visits with strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (required).

• English language proficiency (required).

• Enhanced DBS check, 2 satisfactory references, mandatory training completion.

• Pay from £13.34 per hour (up to £13.38 with experience).

• Paid travel time and mileage at 45p per mile.
