Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to individuals within supported accommodation and community settings. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping clients maintain their tenancies, access benefits, and work towards greater independence. This is a paid role offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly one-to-one support sessions, tailored to each individual’s needs and support plans.
  • Assist clients with housing benefit and Universal Credit claims, including applications, reviews, and ongoing correspondence with local authorities.
  • Support clients with daily living skills, tenancy-related issues, and maintaining accommodation.
  • Liaise and work effectively with Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) such as Windrush, Reliance, Concept, and similar organisations.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients, using strong negotiation skills to resolve housing, benefits, and support-related issues.
  • Help clients organise appointments, manage medication schedules, and complete required paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, support notes, and case documentation using Yardi or similar housing/support management systems.
  • Encourage independence by supporting clients to engage with community services, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, local authorities, and external agencies to ensure effective support delivery.
  • Promote dignity, respect, and choice in all aspects of support provided.

Essential Requirements

  • Male support worker (role requirement).
  • Previous experience working in supported housing or social care, particularly with RSLs such as Windrush,
  • Proven experience in housing benefit/UC claims and tenancy sustainment.
  • Ability to deliver structured weekly support sessions and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment.
