FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated experienced Clinical Support Workers to work within Forth Valley Radiology Department between both Forth Valley Royal Hospital and Stirling Health & Care Village.

The Radiology Department provides a high quality, efficient and effective Radiology service to the local population, including General x-rays, Ultrasound, Mammograms, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology and DXA scanning. The Clinical Support Worker role in Radiology is pivotal to the smooth running of each modality, and also providing the excellent standard of patient care expected in NHS FV. This role operates on a rotational basis through each of the modalities noted above, and different skills will be gained by working across the full suite of areas. Your roster will reflect the mix of areas and full engagement with each area is expected.

Candidates will be trained to carry out assigned tasks, including cannulation, which is a predominant skill for this role. Working as part of each multi-disciplinary team you will be involved in care under the direct and indirect supervision from many of our imaging professionals such as a Sonographer, Staff Nurse, Radiologist, Radiographer or Clinical Technologist. Experience in working in a clinical health care setting is essential and basic IT skills are required.

Any training required if successful will be delivered locally. We have opportunities for development, and require fully flexible candidates with a positive teamwork approach.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Performing cannulation plus assigned clinical tasks under imaging professional supervision across modalities.

• Supporting multi-disciplinary teams delivering high-quality patient care within busy radiology environment.

• Rotating through general x-ray, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine plus DXA scanning maintaining service efficiency.

• Participating in local training developing specialized radiology support competencies effectively.

• Previous clinical healthcare experience plus basic IT proficiency essential for departmental systems.

• Positive teamwork approach engaging fully across diverse radiology modalities professionally.

• Flexible, motivated attitude embracing rotational responsibilities plus ongoing skill development.

• PVG Scheme membership required for patient-facing clinical support worker position.

Requirements

• Proven healthcare setting experience supporting clinical procedures plus patient care delivery.
