An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team. Applications are invited from individuals with an interest in healthcare to join the pharmacy team in Ninewells Hospital as a Trainee Rotational Pharmacy Support Worker. Hospital or pharmacy experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

The role includes supporting the day to day workload within Clinical trials, along with dispensing, picking and issuing medicines.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Supporting daily pharmacy operations including clinical trials, dispensing plus medicine picking/issuing.

• Completing NHS Healthcare Support Worker induction plus GPhC-approved pharmacy training standards.

• Progressing through rotational responsibilities developing competency across hospital pharmacy services.

• Maintaining accuracy, following SOPs plus collaborating within multi-disciplinary pharmacy teams effectively.

Work Schedule

Hours of work are 36 hours per week (over 7 days). 

You Will Have

• NHS Scotland Healthcare Support Worker induction standards

• GPhC approved pharmacy support worker course (eLearning)

• Local PSW competency training and assessment

• Read, understand and follow standard operating procedures

Requirements

• Commitment to achievement of the training

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Flexible and able to adjust to the needs of the service on a daily basis

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to use a keyboard, computer and other electronic devices / equipment effectively
