FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in South Indian cuisine, demonstrating exceptional food preparation and cooking skills. This role involves supervising kitchen operations, managing a team, and ensuring the delivery of authentic and high-quality dishes. The successful applicant will contribute to creating an inviting dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and cook traditional South Indian dishes with authenticity and precision

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service

• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food quality

• Manage food production processes, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and presentation

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times

• Assist in menu planning and development to showcase authentic South Indian cuisine

• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock efficiently

• Train new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations

• Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service

• should be an expert in cooking authentic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, curries, chutneys, and regional specialties

Work Schedule

37.5-45 hours weekly supporting restaurant service demands.

You Will Have

• Proven South Indian culinary expertise with busy kitchen supervisory experience.

• Strong leadership managing kitchen teams under pressure delivering excellence.

• Comprehensive food safety/hygiene knowledge plus inventory management skills.

• Excellent organizational abilities multitasking within dynamic hospitality operations.

Requirements

• Proven culinary experience specialising in South Indian cuisine, with a strong portfolio of successful dishes

• Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment

• Demonstrable skills in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specific to South Indian dishes

• Leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively

• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings

• Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality establishments

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

• Previous experience in restaurant service or serving is advantageous but not essential
