FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented Computer Records Assistant/Medicolegal Secretary to join our team on a part-time work from home basis working closely with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to assist in the preparation of medicolegal reports within his medicolegal practice. Orthopedic support experience is an advantage.

Excellent computer downloading skills of medical records through various systems to include GP and Hospital records, medical reports, and most importantly radiographs from various nominated sites and also from CD-Roms provided to your home address..

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and organising digital records efficiently and reviewing selected sets of medical records selecting relevant entries to add to medical reports prepared. by the doctor to involve copying and pasting from medical records into the report.

Please also note the practice is extremely busy and although flexible, commitment to working hours is required every day.

Further duties such as report typing and admin may also be required from time to time but the role is mainly to offer support to the doctor in his records maintenance and report preparation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Previous Medicolegal/Medical Secretary experience.
  2. Orthopaedic knowledge an advantage.
  3. Proven experience in a fast-moving administrative or clerical role
  4. Proficiency in using all computer programs and experience in downloading records and radiographs and having the computer network to support the sites including CD-ROM access –
  5. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  6. Excellent data entry skills with accuracy and speed and ability to type efficiently.
  7. Knowledge of using the Blue Spier system is an advantage.
