Position: Customs Clearance Specialist 

Salary:£28,000–£32,000 per annum

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team in New Malden. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import and export customs clearance procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable UK customs regulations and supporting the smooth movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customs clearance procedures for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with UK customs regulations and relevant requirements.
• Prepare, check and verify customs clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, HMRC and other relevant authorities to facilitate customs clearance.
• Monitor shipment clearance progress and promptly resolve any issues arising during the customs clearance process.
• Maintain accurate customs records and ensure all documentation is properly filed.
• Provide general support for other import/export-related tasks as required by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail, a high sense of responsibility and good organisational skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Previous experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding or international logistics is desirable.
• Familiarity with UK customs procedures and systems, including CDS, is an advantage.
