Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised support to young people ages 16+, helping them to achieve their full potential. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through mentoring, teaching, and fostering independence. The role is paid and suitable for those passionate about caring and supporting others within a community setting.

Duties

• Offer personalised support to young people , in various settings
• Assist with daily activities, promoting independence and confidence
• Engage in mentoring programmes to encourage positive behaviour and development
• Support educational activities and help with homework or learning tasks
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals
• Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support plans
• Participate in organising activities that promote social inclusion and well-being
• Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made

Skills

• Experience or interest in working with children and supporting their development
• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
• Teaching abilities to facilitate learning in a supportive manner
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships
• Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
• Ability to work flexibly within a team environment while also working independently when required
