FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, promote well-being, and ensure residents’ comfort and safety. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support individuals with mobility and daily routines in accordance with their care plans
  • Monitor and record residents’ health conditions and report any concerns to senior staff
  • Administer medication as directed, following strict protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems and care plan software
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure personalised care
  • Support the organisation of activities that promote physical and mental well-being
  • Drive between clients’ homes as required, ensuring timely service delivery
  • Uphold health and safety standards, including infection control procedures
  • Mileage will be paid

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of care plans and ability to implement them effectively
  • Proficiency in basic IT skills for documentation purposes
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between locations
  • Compassionate approach with excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with residents and their families
