Ladders2Life is an established supported accommodation service for young people 16+ in Gloucester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience to join our friendly team as a support worker across our 5 shared homes. We are committed and passionate about providing a comfortable, welcoming home where young people can be nurtured and supported to develop key life skills and create fun memories for their transition to independence. We put young people at the heart of their service and support the development of life skills towards independence. We empower young people to thrive, to find coping mechanisms, to reduce risks and incidents, and celebrate achievements. As a support worker you will be central to shaping the future of young people in our service.

Role:

Working from 7pm – 8am including a sleep in 11pm – 7am you will continue the work from the day staff, supporting young people in their home. You will carry out a mixture of direct support, group sessions, activities and daily household tasks within the shift, encouraging engagement from young people. You will carry out shifts on a rota basis and can choose the evenings you work across 7 days. The role includes recording daily logs, incidents, complaints, accidents and feedback, and reporting concerns and incidents to external agencies. A good understanding of young people’s needs and risks as well as high standard of record writing is desirable. Full training and shadow induction sessions are provided.

You will have high aspirations for young people and support them to achieve their goals. You will use local knowledge of services and resources to increase their opportunities for education, employment, training, leisure and health.
