Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through personalised care and assistance. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have the ability to follow care plans effectively. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate travel between care settings and clients’ homes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
  • Support the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
  • Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and ensure accurate documentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and their families regarding care needs and progress
  • Use IT systems to update records, document care activities, and manage schedules efficiently
  • Drive between care homes or clients’ residences as required to deliver home care services

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
  • Strong IT skills for managing digital records and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Valid driving licence is preferred to support travel requirements
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
  • Ability to work flexibly according to shift patterns and client needs
