FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organisation’s financial health. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in various accounting software to contribute to our company’s success. The Senior Bookkeeper will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping operations and assisting with financial reporting.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor and improve internal controls related to bookkeeping functions.
- Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies.

Requirement
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior capacity preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., AAT qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
