The DVSA has an exciting new opportunity to join our existing team in the Digital and Data directorate. As DVSA is going through redesigning its teams and services to be more service led, there’s never been a better time to join the DVSA. There are three roles – one role will be focused on our MOT data, one on our Enforcement data and one focused on our Vehicle Testing data, the successful candidates could be offered any one of the roles.
The post holder works effectively within a geographically dispersed team owning the day-to-day delivery of robust, timely and insightful Data Analysis and reporting that enables key stakeholders to make informed decisions based on sound evidence and recommendations.
The post holder works alongside analysts in designing, developing and delivering high quality data, insight and visualisations to key business stakeholders across the business.
The post holder will develop familiarity with a host of different systems and is responsible for delivering a range of daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc dashboards, data models and reports. They will also proactively identify and investigate trends, anomalies and early warning signs, communicating with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Ensure the production of new, regular and ad-hoc Data Analysis reports, owning the relevant datasets and model(s) and the process for developing and maintaining them.
• Establish requirements to identify the who, what and why.
• Analyse and interrogate DVSA’s data to gain a better understanding of the trends and anomalies that affect DVSA’s services.
• Communicate with stakeholders at various levels, tailoring communication styles and methods accordingly.
• Provide information and statistical expertise to the Agency to support both business as usual, continuous improvement and project work.
• Participate in data change governance with other stakeholders.
• Work with system subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand how business logic is applied within data sources, maintain a data knowledge base detailing the main data tables and elements within the data sources, the associated business rules and any known data quality issues.
• Advise, contribute and engage in driving the strategy forward by ensuring existing and new systems and reports continue to deliver business requirements.
Work Schedule
37 hours full-time (part-time min 30hrs) with flexible/hybrid working (60% office monthly).

Requirements
• Have experience reporting data and solutions using Power BI or another similar visualisation tool allowing you to present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Be naturally inquisitive with an eye for problem-solving and finding innovative solutions.
• Have great communication skills; being able to articulate to stakeholders at various levels.
• Be able to advise, contribute and challenge, where necessary.
• Manage and engage with integrity.
• Demonstrate leadership as well as collaborating with other managers.
• Ideally be a Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
