FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Program Intern with Open Society Justice Initiative, you’ll support strategic grant making, operational management, and strategic litigation efforts advancing human rights through research, grantee engagement, legal analysis, event coordination, and partnership development within world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice across 120+ countries. This 6-month hybrid role (Summer-Dec 2026) targets current law/graduate students with human rights commitment, offering hands-on impact supporting OSJI’s national/regional/international court advocacy, grant administration, and capacity building for open societies through real work under mentor supervision. Full-time (40 hours/week) first 3 months, potentially part-time thereafter.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Support strategic grant making including research, administration, grantee engagement.
- Assist operational tasks: contracts, litigation support, event coordination, staff engagement.
- Draft legal/non-legal reports on priority areas (political rights, fair trials, women’s rights).
- Research international/domestic law jurisprudence and country human rights situations.
- Participate in staff calls, meetings, and cross-cultural partnership development.
Work Schedule
6 months starting Summer 2026 (exact date TBD).
Full-time 40 hours/week first 3 months (office 50%).
Part-time 20+ hours/week possible from September (with approval).

- Strong research/writing skills (legal research preferred).

Requirements
- Current law school/graduate student (human rights component) or recent graduate.
- Strong English proficiency (French/Arabic advantageous).
- UK work permission for hybrid London role.
