FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Data Intern within Hiscox’s Group Data Function, you’ll contribute to their Data Strategy implementation supporting Group Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing through the Group Functions Data Hub, working on challenging projects that develop your data analysis skills using SQL, Excel, Python or R. This 8-week programme (29th June – 28th August 2026) offers real team contributions, senior stakeholder interaction, training sessions, and a group research project presentation while building professional relationships across the business. Open to penultimate-year students (graduating 2027) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science pursuing 2:1 degrees, you’ll experience Hiscox’s core values of Courage, Ownership, Human, Connected, and Integrity.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Work on live data projects supporting Group Functions Data Hub initiatives.

• Collaborate across business functions building relationships with senior stakeholders.

• Participate in training sessions deepening insurance industry understanding.

• Contribute to group intern research project presenting to senior leadership.

Work Schedule

Full-time 8-week internship.

29th June – 28th August 2026.

• Fluent business English with numeracy and curiosity.

Requirements

• Penultimate year undergraduate/master’s student graduating 2027.

• Predicted 2:1 in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science (or equivalent).

• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python or R.

• UK work permission.
