FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Pro Syndicate Ltd is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the company’s finance and payroll operations. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, process payroll and payments, and support statutory compliance.
The successful candidate will work closely with management and external accountants to ensure financial records meet UK accounting standards, payroll regulations, and HMRC requirements while supporting the daily financial administration of the business.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation in line with UK accounting practices.
• Record daily financial transactions including invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries using Xero.
• Prepare and process payroll, ensuring correct calculation of wages, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of payroll information in compliance with PAYE and HMRC regulations.
• Reconcile bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy.
• Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Prepare financial summaries and reports for management review.
• Support monthly and year-end financial processes and liaise with external accountants.
• Maintain organised records to support regulatory compliance and financial controls.
• Assist with VAT record keeping and documentation.
• Provide administrative support to the finance department when required.
Work Schedule:
Minimum 37.5 hours per week
Requirements
• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional training or certification such as AAT is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, or accounting administration.
• Knowledge of UK accounting practices and HMRC payroll requirements.
• Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
