We are currently looking for a Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated team at an inclusive, specialist school. You will be part of a school that celebrates each pupil’s unique journey and helps pupils with autism and complex needs, reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with teachers and TA’s to support children throughout the day
- Working 1:1 or in small groups
- Creating a calm, positive learning environment tailored to each pupil’s needs
- Engage in both classroom-based and outdoor learning experiences
- Supporting pupils with sensory and communication needs
Skills needed:
- A background in primary, early years, care, health or social work
- Knowledge of SEND experiences or working in a SEND environment
- Be confident, compassionate and adaptable in a busy school environment
- Be caring and inspiring
- A commitment to make every child feel safe and comforted
- Great communication skills but willing to learn alternative communication techniques
