FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Advantage Healthcare seeks calm, experienced Complex Care Assistants supporting young person with epilepsy, developmental delay plus neurological conditions. This specialized role delivers comprehensive daily living support maintaining strict infection control within family home environment.
In this role, you will provide full support with all aspects of daily living for a young person with complex health needs, including epilepsy, developmental delay and neurological conditions. This includes assisting with personal care, bathing, dressing and continence management, as well as supporting with a pureed diet and maintaining strict infection control procedures due to a high vulnerability to illness. You will accompany and support them during the school week, helping them engage and participate, and ensure a consistent daily routine, including a calming bath after school and a structured bedtime routine. A key part of the role is monitoring for seizure activity, recognising triggers such as sudden loud noises or changes in temperature, and responding appropriately, including administering prescribed rescue medication and following emergency procedures when required. You will work closely with their family to ensure safe and consistent care, support communication needs as they are non-verbal but have good understanding, and encourage participation in activities they enjoy. Above all, you will create a calm, safe and supportive environment, promote their independence, and act as a strong advocate to ensure their needs and preferences are always respected.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Providing full personal care support including bathing, dressing plus continence management sensitively.
• Monitoring seizure activity recognizing triggers administering rescue medication following emergency protocols.
• Supporting pureed diet, school accompaniment plus structured daily routines promoting independence.
• Collaborating with family ensuring consistent non-verbal communication plus preferred activity engagement.
Work Schedule
Flexible bank shifts Days 7:30am-4pm / Nights 10pm-6am

• Strong infection control awareness supporting highly vulnerable individuals effectively.
• Excellent observational skills recognizing medical triggers plus responding appropriately professionally.
