FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Serco seeks reliable Prisoner Custody Officers for secure transport between prisons, courts and police stations. This essential justice system role ensures detainee safety, welfare and security during escort duties.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Attending briefings, conducting vehicle/equipment checks and detainee searches.
• Transporting detainees safely while monitoring welfare during journeys.
• Managing court escorts, cell supervision and paperwork completion.
• Responding flexibly to operational demands including extended hours.
Work Schedule
24/6 rota covering early/late shifts with overtime opportunities (potential first-year earnings £34,805-£36,605).
You Will Have
• Strong communication skills staying calm under pressure.
• Physical fitness, behaviour management and de-escalation confidence.
• Teamwork ability following processes with professionalism/integrity.
• No experience required – full 5½-week paid training provided.
