FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Health Care Assistant at Hawthorn Manor Residential Home, you’ll provide compassionate daily care to residents including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), mobility support, meal preparation/feeding, and wellbeing monitoring while following individualised care plans, maintaining IT documentation, and fostering communication with families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals. This 22-hour weekly part-time role welcomes candidates with or without care home experience (full training provided), requiring strong English communication, IT proficiency for care records, and organisational skills within a supportive professional environment focused on resident wellbeing and social engagement.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Assist residents with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming.

• Support mobility/transfers ensuring resident safety at all times.

• Help with meal preparation, feeding per individual care plans.

• Monitor/record health conditions, behaviours, wellbeing changes.

• Maintain accurate IT documentation using care plan software.

Work Schedule

Part-time 22 hours per week.

In-person Gillingham location.

Minimum 22-hour weekly commitment required.

You Will Have 

• Excellent communication building resident/family rapport.

• IT proficiency for care record keeping/communication.

• Organisational skills following individual care plans.

• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced teams.

• Genuine desire assisting daily needs compassionately.

Requirements

• Ability to commit minimum 22 hours weekly.

• UK work authorisation.

• Good command of written/verbal English.
