FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Customer Service Assistant (Telephony) for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, you will deliver exceptional customer service via telephone and email to a global audience preparing for their visit to this world-class event on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. You will assist with ticket sales, hospitality packages, merchandise orders, and general enquiries, acting as a first-class ambassador for an iconic Scottish tradition that attracts 230,000 live visitors annually through music, precision performances, and international cultural acts. This role supports the connection between performers, staff, and audiences, contributing to services and arts charities each year.

The position requires enthusiastic, personable individuals passionate about creating positive experiences, handling high-volume international interactions with professionalism and warmth during the busy lead-up to the Tattoo performances.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Provide excellent customer service and communication over the telephone and via email to members of the public and travel trade worldwide.

• Assist in processing orders for Tattoo tickets, hospitality packages, and merchandise.

• Carry out administrative ticket sales tasks, including accurate data logging and order management.

• Help customers with online bookings, mobile ticket access, ticket resale options, and general ticketing enquiries.

• Prepare and despatch Tattoo tickets and passes efficiently.

• Occasionally assist the team at The Hub with face-to-face ticket sales and customer queries.

Work Schedule

Part-time, fixed term contract.

Primarily Monday to Friday, with hours focused on the lead-up period to Tattoo performances.

You Will Have:

• Enthusiastic, passionate, and personable approach to customer service.

• Excellent telephone and written communication skills, with clarity and professionalism.

• Comfortable handling ticket sales administration, data entry, and order processing.

• Ability to assist with online systems, mobile tickets, and resale processes.

• Team-oriented, with flexibility for occasional face-to-face support at The Hub.

Requirements

• Availability to work part-time during the fixed term, primarily handling telephony and email support.

• Strong communication skills for international customer interactions.
