FULL JOB DESCRIPTION 

The London Borough of Camden is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the Single Pathways Service. In this role, you will support adults and young people living in hostel accommodation to build safer, healthier, and more independent lives.

You will provide person-centred, trauma-informed support, helping residents develop practical, social, and emotional skills to sustain housing, improve wellbeing, and move toward settled accommodation.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Provide person-centred support to residents within accommodation services.

• Help individuals build independence and develop life skills.

• Conduct strengths-based assessments and create support plans.

• Build trusting relationships with residents, particularly those experiencing trauma or distress.

• Promote emotional and physical safety within the accommodation setting.

• Work collaboratively with partner organisations and professionals to coordinate support.

• Maintain accurate casework records and documentation.

• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and risk situations.

Work Schedule:
14 hours per week

Requirements

• Passion for supporting individuals with housing and wellbeing needs.

• Experience working with people facing complex challenges such as housing issues, welfare benefits, or social support needs.

• Ability to carry out assessments and develop support plans.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.

• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding practices.

• Enhanced DBS check required (role exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act).
