FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Health on the Hill is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join its community pharmacy team in Hampton Hill.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their pharmacy career in a friendly, customer-focused environment. The pharmacy prides itself on building strong relationships with local customers while delivering excellent service.
You will work alongside a pharmacist, trainee pharmacist, and dispensary assistant, receiving training and support to perform your role effectively. If you have not already completed it, you will undertake the Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) course, a recognised qualification within the pharmacy industry.
In this role, you will gain valuable experience in retail pharmacy operations, healthcare services, health and beauty products, prescriptions management, and public health programmes.
The pharmacy also provides a range of health services including vaccinations, travel clinic services, ear wax removal, blood pressure checks, contraception services, and treatment for minor ailments such as sore throat, sinusitis, earache, and insect bites.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Meet and greet walk-in customers at the counter and shop floor
• Answer phone enquiries and assist with customer queries
• Advise customers on health products, services, and retail items
• Receive prescription requests and pass them to the dispensary team
• Hand out prepared prescription medicines to customers
• Help customers request prescriptions from their GP surgery
• Assist visiting therapists and manage the therapy room
• Process product deliveries and maintain stock using the EPoS system
• Process sales transactions and cash up at the end of the day
• Merchandise and manage retail stock
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy, clinic, and retail areas
• Ensure proper disposal of recycling, pharmaceutical, and general waste
• Stay updated on health conditions and pharmacy retail products
Work schedule
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
Expected Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Requirements
• Minimum 1 year of paid experience in a UK pharmacy (preferably full-time)
• GCSE or equivalent qualification
• Fluent English
• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Hampton TW12 1PD
• Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Medicines Counter Assistant in a community pharmacy
• Completion of the Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) course
• Knowledge of common community health conditions and pharmacy retail products
