FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes, ensuring their well-being and independence are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in care settings or home care is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
● Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management
● Supporting individuals with their care plans to meet their specific needs and preferences
● Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
● Assisting with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and light housekeeping
● Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required
● Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any concerns to senior staff
● Ensuring a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
● Communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care
Skills
● Valid driving licence and ability to drive clients safely
● Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care support
● Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively
● Strong IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and communication
● Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
● Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
● Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
● Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating professionalism and reliability at all times
