Overview Of Role:
The post-holder will work as a valued member of the Data Team based at Newfield House, Blackpool. They will work alongside other experienced team members and support our existing apprentice Data Analyst (Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship). Much of your time will be spent on site at Newfield House in Blackpool. However, there is an expectation that you will travel to our various operational sites to engage with the operational staff delivering services, as required. Some hybrid working may be considered.
The role itself will involve a wide variety of data extraction, data quality review, pattern analysis, root cause, and reporting scenarios. A further part of the role will be to help us stabilize and automate many of the existing ETL processes. This will be accomplished using modern tools, so the BI department can spend more time adding value through insight about the functionality of our business from the data it produces.
Responsibilities:
The data analyst will be required to:
Use all tools available (e.g. SQL (SSRS), Microsoft Power BI, Snowflake, etc) to collate, filter, and combine data and complete all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports in readiness for submission to commissioners and national bodies, in line with company requirements.
Support members of the Data Team, including during apprenticeships, to support learning and share ideas to improve the overall skills of each member of the team
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders so that data confidence can be maintained and improved across the organization.
Ensure management of all data tools and dashboards so that they remain accessible, relevant, accurate, and useable.
Lead on data projects such as ‘Power BI Training’ and ‘Monthly Data Meetings’.
When applicable, map new data sources and produce relevant and concise visuals so that these can be used by all relevant stakeholders.
Speedily and accurately resolve data quality issues, as and when these arise, and learn from where these occur to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
Work on your own initiative to identify and interrogate data to identify trends and patterns that may lead to learning and wider business decisions.
Build a level of operational knowledge across the organization to support meaningful conversations regarding future business decisions.
Work closely with the Quality & Risk team to ensure we maintain compliance with all information governance policies, for example, ‘Privacy by Design’.
Identify ETL processes that have manual steps and work with the organization and external partners to plan and build automated flows.

Person Specification
Experience – Essential
Experience within a busy office environment.
Experience working with Microsoft Office IT systems.
Able to demonstrate effective partnership/teamwork.
Experience in data analysis including evidence of E.T.L. and the use of Power BI or similar.
Desirable
Identifying issues or improvements with data flows and engaging with internal and external partners to help design and implement improvements.
Engaging and training colleagues on technical data tools.
Knowledge & Skills – Essential
Negotiating, networking, and persuasive skills.
Skills for communication with complex information and administrative matters, requiring developed interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills.
Ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports with supporting data

Educated to a degree level in data analysis
Educated to GCSE/O Level standard including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
