Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with children and young people, offering consistent support and encouragement
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities
- Support educational activities by helping children with homework and learning exercises
- Mentor children by providing guidance, positive role modeling, and emotional support
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to develop tailored care plans that meet individual needs
- Promote social inclusion by encouraging participation in group activities and community events
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents or concerns
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in a caring or educational setting is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire confidence in others
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for children’s developmental stages
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and team members
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ growth and well-being
- Ability to remain patient, flexible, and proactive in dynamic environments
- Relevant certifications or training related to child care or support work are a plus
