Responsibilities
- Offer consistent emotional support and encouragement to children, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Implement tailored activities that promote social skills, learning, and personal development.
- Mentor children through positive reinforcement, helping build confidence and resilience.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to develop individualized support plans that meet each child’s unique needs.
- Support children during educational activities or teaching sessions to enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents in line with organizational policies.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or care settings, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Strong mentoring skills to guide children positively and foster their self-esteem.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in supporting young people’s growth.
- Teaching abilities to facilitate learning activities that are engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate.
