Job Summary

Seaview provides support services for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will lead and supervise support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to individuals in a care home setting. Your leadership will foster a positive environment where residents feel valued, safe, and supported.

Responsibilities

● Supervise and support support workers to deliver person-centered care aligned with individual needs and preferences

● Lead the development, review, and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams

● Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures within the care home environment

● Assist with daily activities such as medication administration, personal hygiene support, and mobility assistance when necessary

● Monitor residents’ well-being closely, responding promptly to any changes or concerns with professionalism and empathy

● Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to support staff to promote best practices and continuous improvement

● Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and communication logs using IT systems designed for healthcare settings

● Manage budgets relating to service users’ money, catering, and activities

Requirements

● Proven experience working in a care home or senior care environment with supervisory or leadership responsibilities

● Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals

● Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team atmosphere

● Valid driving license preferred for transportation needs within the community or care facility

● Experience in creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs

● Competency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes

● Supervising experience demonstrating leadership qualities such as motivation, organisation, and problem-solving skills

● Basic British Sign Language (BSL) skills desirable, supporting effective communication with D/deaf or hard-of-hearing residents
