FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers/Support Workers to provide exceptional assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with their daily needs, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. Experience in senior care, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, or child care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through attentive and respectful support.

Duties

• Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Supporting with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
• Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
• Providing companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• Assisting with mobility and transfer activities using proper techniques and equipment
• Managing behaviour effectively and implementing behaviour management strategies
• Driving clients to appointments or outings when necessary
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and client progress
• Responding promptly to emergency situations with first aid if required
• Supporting clients with activities of daily living to foster independence and dignity

Experience

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred
• Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care
• Proven ability in caregiving roles involving medication administration and behaviour management
• Experience with meal preparation and heavy lifting tasks is advantageous
• First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
• Valid driving licence is beneficial for roles involving client transportation
