This is more than a job. It’s the chance to be a positive, stable adult in the life of a child who needs one.
About the role
As a Children’s Home Support Worker, you’ll support the day-to-day care of the young people living in our home. Your role will include:

- Helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills.
- Encouraging engagement in hobbies, education and the local community.
- Supporting young people to manage their emotions and behaviour, using our therapeutic approach and de-escalation techniques.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child at all times.
- Keeping clear, accurate records and communicating effectively with the team.
What you’ll need
- You must either hold the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare, or be actively studying towards it (or hold a recognised equivalent qualification).
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Warmth, patience, resilience and emotional maturity.
- The ability to stay calm and think clearly in challenging situations.
- Good communication and teamworking skills.
- Flexibility to work a shift pattern including days, evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins.
- A willingness to complete all mandatory training (including our behaviour management and physical intervention model).
Desirable
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
- A full UK driving licence.
What we offer
- Competitive pay + sleep-in rates
- Funded training and support to complete your Level 3, if studying towards it
- Ongoing professional development and career progression
- Supportive management and a strong team culture
Are you working towards or hold your Level 3 in residential childrens care? Only apply if you do.
