Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care plans tailored to each client’s needs, including assistance with daily routines, hygiene, and mobility.
- Support patients with activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and light housekeeping to ensure comfort and well-being.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other cognitive impairments, employing behavior management techniques.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for clients in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, health observations, and any incidents in compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments demonstrating strong patient care skills.
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior or child care practices.
- Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for home visits or client outings.
- Excellent communication skills to engage empathetically with clients and team members.
- Physical stamina for activities such as heavy lifting, transferring patients, and long shifts on your feet.
- Competence in meal preparation, medication administration, and behavior management techniques to support diverse client needs.
