FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Employer:Phoenix Care SW
Position:Personal Assistant / Support Worker
Salary:£13.00 – £21.08 Per Hour
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time
Work location:Bath, England
Some jobs are about tasks.
This one is about people.
At Phoenix Care, we support adults over 18 with a wide range of support needs to live independently, safely, and meaningfully in their own homes and communities.
- That might mean supporting someone with autism to build confidence using public transport.
- Helping a parent with chronic illness manage daily life.
- Supporting someone through mental health challenges.
- Helping a person with dementia feel calm and secure.
- Or simply being there for someone who feels isolated and overwhelmed.
No two people are the same — and neither is this role.
This is more than care work
It’s knowing when someone needs encouragement…
and when they just need someone to sit beside them quietly.
It’s celebrating the small victories:
- Someone leaving the house after months of anxiety
- A client cooking independently again
- Helping someone attend college, volunteering, or social activities
- Seeing confidence slowly return to a person who had lost it
The support we provide can genuinely change lives.
Real moments from our team
One client we support had stopped engaging with the outside world due to anxiety and low confidence. Through consistent support, patience, and encouragement, they slowly rebuilt trust and independence — eventually attending community activities again and reconnecting with life outside their home.
Another client told us:
“You don’t make me feel like a job. You make me feel like a person again.”
That is the standard we strive for.
