This vacancy is for 2 days per week – ideally candidates will be available on Monday and Friday for this role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 3 Senior Nursing Assistant to join the HIV Service at the Ian Charleson Day Centre (ICDC), part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

ICDC is one of the UK’s largest HIV outpatient services, providing specialist care to more than 3,400 people living with HIV. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and who enjoys working within a busy, supportive multidisciplinary team.

As a Senior Nursing Assistant, you will work alongside nurses, doctors, pharmacists and administrative colleagues to support the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred HIV care. The role involves both direct patient care and clinical support activities, helping to ensure a positive experience for patients attending the service.

You will undertake a range of delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a registered nurse and will have opportunities to develop new skills and contribute to the smooth running of our clinics and day care services.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse

The Senior Nursing Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. They will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

● Assist with the induction, supervision and training and development of Band 2 Nursing Assistants under the supervision of a registered nurse.

There is the opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.

To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
