Position:Children’s Support Worker

Salary:£13.45 per hour

Job Types:Part-time

Work location:Peterhead, Scotland

Are you an experienced Support Work professional looking for a part-time role working with children for 6 hours every 2nd Saturday?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team.

THIS ROLE IS FOR EVERY SECOND SATURDAY FOR 6 HOURS ONLY.

With the opportunity to build hours if required.

Purpose of Post

To work alongside and enable People in our service to have fulfilling experiences, participate fully and develop new skills. To help everyone achieve their chosen outcomes.

Experience working with horses and other animals is desirable. Training will be given.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To enable children who use our Service to be included and participate in the activities of their choice.
  • Co-operate and collaborate with everyone supporting the people using Buchan Community Farm services. This includes the people we support, carers, colleagues, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for adults and children.
  • Ensuring that you comply with all workplace health, safety, and well-being arrangements associated with individual support plans.
  • Communicate immediately to the manager with any concerns you may have about the mental health or physical well-being of the people we support.
  • Undertake other tasks related to the post as reasonably requested by your line manager.

Quality and Standards

  • Operate within and promote the Buchan Community Farm Values.
  • Be aware of the SSSC Code of Practice and ensure that you apply its principles into practice.
  • Be aware of the main principles of the National Care Standards (Dignity, Privacy, Choice, Safety, Realising Potential and Equality and Diversity) and ensure that they are reflected within your practice.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all Buchan Community Farm Policies and Procedures, paying particular attention to the guidance relating to any specific procedures relating to the safety and well-being of individuals (found within their support plans).
  • Seek advice and guidance from your supervisor whenever you are unfamiliar with any standard, policy, or procedure.
  • A sound understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities and responsibilities and how they relate to supporting vulnerable individuals.

Learning and Development

  • Complete the required mandatory and individually specific training within agreed timescales.
  • Attend and actively contribute to supervision and practice development sessions as agreed with your line manager.
  • Be accountable for your own actions and take responsibility for your professional development.

We are in a very rural location with out public transport links, own transport is essential.
