FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant (Tier 2 Work Permit) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with pharmacy technician experience or those eager to develop their skills within a professional healthcare environment. The position is paid and suitable for applicants holding a Tier 2 work permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently
• Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Provide compassionate patient care by answering queries, offering medication guidance, and supporting health promotion activities
• Maintain accurate records of medication stock levels, expiry dates, and inventory management
• Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations and maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing prescriptions as required
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes and enhance service delivery

Requirements

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and team members
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A valid Tier 2 work permit is essential for this role
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards in healthcare environments
