FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance and guidance to children and young people. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment that promotes personal development, learning, and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals while gaining valuable experience in a supportive setting.

Duties

  • Offer personalised support to children and young people, encouraging their social, emotional, and educational development
  • Assist with daily activities, including organising outings, leisure activities, and educational programmes
  • Mentor and motivate children to build confidence and independence
  • Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support
  • Facilitate teaching sessions or activities aimed at developing life skills and learning abilities
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and support plans
  • Promote a positive environment that encourages participation and inclusion

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable
  • Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Proven ability to teach or facilitate learning activities effectively
  • Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, often in dynamic or challenging situations
  • Relevant qualifications or training related to childcare or social care are advantageous but not essential
  • A recognised qualification in health & social care or related fields is preferred
  • Commitment to safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Full UK driving licence (Mandatory).
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar care role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering high-quality care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Right to work in the UK.
