The School and Role
This SEND school, based in Stockton is looking to appoint a passionate Autism Support Assistant to work across all Key Stages and classes. Working in this SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Autism Support Assistant will be working with a range of pupils on a 1:1 basis with SEND including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children or adults with SEND
- Ability to provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement
- Skills to encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
- Ability to establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Commitment to promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
- Capability to support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
- Own transport or willingness to use public transport
