Part-Time Retail Assistant – Traditional Sweet Shop
Hours: Part-Time (including weekends and school holidays)

Are you friendly, energetic, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service? We’re looking for a reliable Part-Time Retail Assistant to join our family-friendly traditional sweet shop.

Our shop offers much more than just traditional sweets – we also serve delicious freak shakes, brownies, and other sweet treats, with a soft play area upstairs for families to enjoy. Every day is different, so we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with customers of all ages.

What you’ll be doing:

• Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries to enhance their shopping experience
• Serving traditional sweets, brownies, and our unique freak shakes, as well as up-selling and cross-selling where appropriate
• Operating the till and handling cash and card transactions.
• Preparing food and drinks while maintaining excellent food safety standards.
• Keeping the shop clean, organised, and well-stocked.
• Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness in the soft play area.
• Handling customer feedback professionally and resolving any issues promptly
• Helping to create a fun, positive atmosphere.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has at least 2 years’ retail or customer service experience.
• Holds a valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Holds a valid Allergen Awareness Certificate.
• Is friendly, approachable, and enjoys interacting with customers.
• Is organised, reliable, and able to multitask, with a particular strength in attention to detail.
• Works well both independently and as part of a team.
• Is flexible and available to work weekends and school holidays, and to cover sickness and holidays as required.
