Derwentside and Chester Le Street Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a Band 5 Community Mental Health Nurse. The post holder will join our welcoming and dedicated adult mental health team.
Whether you’re an experienced Registered Nurse or a Newly Registered Nurse, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that puts patient care first. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day.
Student Nurse’s that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.

Your Responsibilities include:
⢠This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 mental health nurse to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As a community mental health nurse,
⢠you will have a genuine interest in working with adults experiencing enduring and complex mental health problems including their carers and families.

⢠As a core member of the team, you will support patients through the combined pathway of care focusing on recovery and improving quality of life.

Requirement
⢠Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
⢠To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
⢠Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
⢠Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
⢠Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
⢠Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
⢠Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
⢠Working in a multi-disciplinary team
⢠Working in partnership with other agencies
⢠Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
⢠Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
⢠Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
⢠Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
⢠Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
⢠Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
