Are you inquisitive, analytical, and creative? Do you want to develop valuable project management and business analyst experience with options to progress? Then you may be interested in a new role in the Social Care and Education Project Management Office.

Join us as a Junior Business Analyst, where your role will be to work with key stakeholders to deliver initiatives that further the strategic and operational aims of the Social Care and Education department. You will do this by undertaking investigations and analysis of a variety of projects being delivered, supporting senior managers to make decisions.

You’ll work with business change commissioning managers, business analysts and supporting staff in a recognised team, with opportunities to learn, shadow, and develop your analytical and project management skillset.

The role is hybrid, meaning most of your working time will be spent at home, with the expectation that you work from a city council office at least twice a week. When working in the office, you’ll be based at Halford House, but may be required to travel across the city to undertake visits and attend meetings.

Your Responsibilities include:

• In this role, you will be supporting the delivery of important, strategic initiatives by developing and demonstrating your abilities to investigate issues, analyse data, and report information – to assist key decision making.

• On a day-to-day basis, you will be meeting and working with a range of stakeholders across the Social Care & Education department to source, collect, and understand information used to progress projects that instigate change.

• You’ll use this information to create documents, plans and designs that you will use to present recommendations/ solutions to decision makers.

• You’ll report to the Business Analysis and Change Manager in the team, and will be part of a growing team of Business Change Commissioning Managers, Business Analysts and Project Officers – that have a wealth of experience for delivering initiatives that instigate change.

• Like Patrick, a Business Analyst in the team you can progress within this role. See below what he says about the role:

• “As an Associate Business Analyst within this team, you will be working in a dynamic and complex environment. This will involve working with a mixture of qualitative and quantitative data sets.

• This role will test your ability to not only analyse data but to analyse the business itself. As part of working with this team I have developed significantly in stakeholder management.

• Within the role I have had to handle varying projects in order to understand the root causes of issues that have been identified across Adult Social Care. This has required me to utilise a broad set of skills such as: process mapping, demand forecasting, and leading workshops.

• The team itself is a highly skilled and motivated group who try to bring out the best in each other; providing many opportunities for development to build key business analysis and project management skills.”
