FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is inviting applications for the post of Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (Honorary Consultant Physician). We are specifically seeking an enthusiastic clinical pharmacologist who is innovative in their approach to teaching and learning and also interested in research. An interest in clinical pharmacology education and an established academic track record in this subject area is advantageous but there is flexibility to align with the applicants specific interests.   

The post is offered in association with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex) where the successful applicant will hold an honorary consultant contract, with main clinical work conducted at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath and Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton sites with the potential for cross-site working.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Delivering undergraduate/postgraduate CPT teaching across curriculum design, assessment, simulation and digital learning.

• Holding honorary consultant contract with UHSussex, conducting clinical work at PRH Haywards Heath and RSCH Brighton sites.

• Leading research in clinical pharmacology with established academic track record.

• Contributing to BSMS medical education standards and student experience development.

Work Schedule

Full-time with flexible working options considered (subject to business needs).

You Will Have

• Dual accreditation in CPT and General Internal Medicine.

• Expertise in medical/CPT education including higher specialist training.

• Research-active profile with experience in curriculum development and inter-professional education.

• Active NHS clinical practice and academic publication record.
