FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Peabody’s Islington Mental Health Services seeks a compassionate Support Worker to help individuals with serious mental illness histories live independently and thrive. You’ll deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support using the Recovery Model, assisting with housing, income maximisation, life skills development and wellbeing while working collaboratively to promote recovery and community integration.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Working with customers to create support plans, conduct risk assessments and promote recovery through practical/emotional assistance.
• Supporting access to housing, benefits, budgeting and community activities while addressing Dual Diagnosis needs (mental health + substance use).
• Delivering trauma-informed care, maintaining safeguarding standards and fostering independence.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to help customers achieve personal goals.
Work Schedule
Part-time 18.75 hours per week, with flexible shifts potentially including evenings/weekends to meet service needs.
You Will Have
• Genuine passion for customer service with kindness, empathy and appreciation for diversity.
• Experience in support planning, risk assessment and mental health best practices.
• Confidence working with Dual Diagnosis individuals using Recovery Model/Trauma-Informed Care approaches.
Requirements
• Eligible to work in the UK and commit to 18.75 hours weekly.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
