FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Aspris seeks compassionate Residential Support Workers for their 5-bed Southampton children’s home, supporting young people with autism, learning disabilities, attachment disorders, Asperger’s, mental health needs and family challenges. You’ll provide emotional care, daily living support (washing, dressing, school runs) and fun weekend outings to theme parks, bowling, cinemas and zoos, building lasting relationships that help vulnerable youth overcome obstacles. This rewarding role balances joyful progress moments with resilience for challenging behaviours, in a supportive team environment dedicated to bright futures.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Offering emotional support and practical help with daily activities like personal care, meal prep and school transport.

• Accompanying young people on engaging weekend outings to community activities, fostering social skills and enjoyment.

• Managing challenging behaviours with patience, understanding and de-escalation, while promoting positive development.

• Building strong, trusting relationships through listening, fun activities like film nights, baking or gaming, and consistent encouragement.

• Maintaining accurate records, participating in care planning and ensuring safeguarding in a home for complex needs.

Work Schedule

Flexible shifts including weekdays and weekends, with weekend work mostly off-site for outings.

You Will Have

Requirements

• Full UK driving license essential.

• Passion for supporting children/young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health or social needs.

• Flexibility for varied shifts; training provided for all newcomers.

• Desirable:

• Experience with vulnerable youth or care settings.
