FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Winn Solicitors offers a paid 10-week Summer Internship Programme designed for law students and graduates passionate about gaining real-world legal experience in a fast-paced firm. Based in the Costs and Debt Recovery department, you will handle practical tasks like chasing insurers for payments, assisting with litigation and preparing court bundles, while also spending time with the Advocacy Team and Wills, Probate and Trust department for broader exposure. Running from 22nd June to 28th August 2026, this programme develops essential legal skills and provides insight into law firm operations.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Chasing insurers and solicitors for agreed payment sums and responses to Bills/Statements of Costs.

• Assisting the team with issuing Part 7 & Part 8 litigation claims and filing documents with the Court.

• Chasing courts for the return of documents and preparing bundles for department hearings.

• Undertaking legal research tasks and supporting various administrative duties within the Costs team.

• Spending 1-2 days with Advocacy and Wills, Probate & Trust teams for cross-departmental exposure.

Work Schedule

Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm for the entire 10-week duration (22nd June – 28th August 2026). Full availability for all dates is mandatory.

You Will Have

• Passion for law and eagerness to gain practical experience in a professional legal environment.

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle administrative legal tasks.

• Excellent communication skills for liaising with insurers, solicitors and courts.

Requirements

• Full availability from 22nd June to 28th August 2026 (no other dates considered).

• Right to work in the United Kingdom (required).

• Ability to reliably commute to Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1PL.
