FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
As an NIVID Avionics & Electrical Engineer in Bristol, you’ll lead avionics system architecture, integration, and certification strategy defining Interface Control Documents (ICDs), managing ARINC-429/AFDX/CAN/Ethernet networks, driving bench/ground/flight testing, and supporting CS-23/DO-160 certification projects within cutting-edge aerospace electrical systems development blending SoC design, signal processing, and firmware expertise.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Lead avionics system architecture + integration strategy.
• Define/manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Drive system testing: bench, ground, flight certification.
• Design ARINC-429/AFDX/CAN/Ethernet network architecture.
• Support CS-23/DO-160 certification + subcontractor direction.
Work Schedule
Full-time hybrid Bristol aerospace engineering role.
Fixed-term contract with company pension benefits.
You Will Have
• HIRF/Lightning/EMI compliance expertise.
• ARINC-429/AFDX/CAN/Ethernet network design.
• System on Chip (SoC) + signal processing + firmware.
• CVE DOA appointments (Lightning/HIRF/EMI/software).
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Engineering degree + 3-10 years experience.
• UK CS-23 + DO-160 certification knowledge essential.
• Avionics/electrical system design + certification experience.
• Strong leadership + problem-solving communication skills.
