FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Thornbury Community Services Healthcare Assistant in Colchester, you’ll provide specialised community care to a female client with undiagnosed genetic disorder/cerebral palsy elements delivering tracheostomy care/suction, ventilation management, gastrostomy (Mickey button) care, and enabling independence while enjoying exceptional pay rates (£18-22.38/hr), 24/7 support, mileage expenses, and upskilling training within CQC ‘Outstanding’ provider.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Tracheostomy care + suction to clinical standards.

• Ventilation management via tracheostomy.

• Gastrostomy care (Mickey button/stoma management).

• Support client communication/preferences + community access.

• Accurate clinical record-keeping + family liaison.

Work Schedule

Days/nights flexible shifts across Colchester.

Weekends £22.38/hr enhanced rate.

Client home visits with 2 dogs present.

You Will Have 

• Complex care experience with non-verbal communication.

• Comfortable around dogs (client has 2 pets).

• Resilient independent community working capability.

• Passion for enabling client independence/goals.

Requirements

• 12+ months UK-based care experience mandatory.

• Tracheostomy/ventilation/gastrostomy competence essential.

• Full UK manual driving licence required.

• Female applicants only (client preference).
