FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Family Support Worker with Rainbow Trust’s South West Care Team, you’ll deliver needs-led emotional, social, and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life-threatening or terminal illness, working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals while providing bereavement support, building trusted relationships, and writing case studies within this growing charity reaching more families in crisis. This Bristol-based role covering South West England requires child health/education/social care experience, child protection expertise, and full UK driving licence, offering company car, flexible hours, 25+ days annual leave, and comprehensive training including Mental Health First Aid and counselling skills.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Provide emotional/practical support to families with life-limited children.
• Collaborate with health/education/social care professionals.
• Deliver bereavement support understanding grief/loss processes.
• Write case studies supporting fundraising colleagues.
• Maintain child protection/data protection safeguarding standards.
Work Schedule
Full-time 35 hours per week.
Flexible working covering Bristol/surrounding South West areas.
Company car provided for community visits.
